This Cookie Policy explains how Ego (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at egohub.co, in the Ego admin console, and within the Shopify applications we publish.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly, and our Terms of Service.
This policy covers our own properties. It does not cover third-party websites or merchant storefronts, which are controlled by their operators and governed by their own cookie notices.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device so it can recognize your browser on a later visit and remember information such as your login state or preferences.
Similar technologies
- Local storage & session storage: browser storage used to hold interface preferences on the device without sending them to a server on every request
- Pixels and tags: tiny scripts or images used to record that a page or action was loaded
- Software development kits (SDKs): equivalent mechanisms inside mobile apps built with Ego Mobile App Builder
First-party vs third-party
- First-party cookies are set by the domain you are visiting — for example, egohub.co
- Third-party cookies are set by another domain, such as an analytics or advertising provider loaded on the page
- Session cookies are erased when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them
3. Why We Use Cookies
We keep cookie use deliberately minimal. We rely on cookies to:
- Authenticate you — keep you signed in to your Ego account or the admin console between page loads
- Secure the service — protect sessions against tampering and detect suspicious activity
- Remember preferences — retain interface choices so you do not have to set them again
- Understand usage — measure which pages, articles, and product documentation are most useful, so we can improve them
Our public marketing pages measure aggregate page popularity by counting page views per URL path. This counter is not tied to a cookie, a user account, or an individual visitor.
4. Cookies We Set
The following first-party cookies may be set when you use egohub.co:

Session cookies are only issued after you sign in. If you browse our public pages without logging in, no authentication cookie is created.
Cookie categories
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function, such as login and security. These cannot be switched off through our site
- Preference — remember settings and interface choices
- Analytics — help us understand how the site is used, in aggregate
- Marketing — used to measure campaigns or deliver relevant advertising, where enabled
5. Cookies From Our Apps
When a merchant installs an Ego app, that app may store small amounts of data in the storefront visitor's browser so the feature can work. Typical examples:
- Ego Cart Drawer — remembers the cart drawer state and which upsell offers have already been shown
- Ego Free Gift and Ego Bundles — track progress toward reward thresholds and which offers have been applied
- Ego Sticky Add to Cart and Ego Preorder — retain widget state and selected variants across pages
- Ego Subscriptions and Ego Order Tracking — keep the shopper's context while managing a subscription or looking up an order
- Ego Survey — records that a survey has already been answered or dismissed, to avoid showing it again
- Ego Facebook Pixel — loads the merchant's own Meta Pixel, which sets Meta's cookies on the storefront
On a storefront, the merchant is the data controller for these technologies. Merchants are responsible for disclosing them in their own cookie notice and for collecting consent where their customers' local law requires it.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by third parties whose platforms we or our merchants operate on:

7. Consent & Legal Basis
Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in delivering a functioning, secure service — without them you could not stay signed in.
Where analytics, personalization, or marketing cookies are used and your local law requires it — for example under the EU/UK ePrivacy rules and GDPR, Brazil's LGPD, or the CCPA — we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by clearing cookies or adjusting your browser settings.

You can view, delete, and block cookies through your browser settings at any time:

- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data

Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode, which discards cookies at the end of the session.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent parts of the Ego account and admin console from working. Blocking storefront cookies set by our apps may cause carts, gifts, or bundles to behave unexpectedly.
Mobile apps
For apps built with Ego Mobile App Builder, equivalent controls live in your device settings — for example advertising identifier and tracking permissions on iOS and Android.
9. Do Not Track
There is no industry-standard interpretation of browser “Do Not Track” signals. We do not currently respond to them. We will update this section if a consistent standard is adopted.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our services, tooling, or legal obligations change. Updates are posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
