Advanced Plan Settings & Shipping Profiles
Minimum orders before cancelling, automatic plan expiry, and subscription-only shipping rates.
Minimum required orders
In a plan's Advanced settings, Minimum required orders means customers can cancel only after completing N orders.
When to use it: you're giving a big first-order discount (say 40% off the first box) and need at least 3 orders to make the economics work. Set minimum = 3; the portal simply won't offer cancellation until the third order is delivered.
Be transparent — state the commitment clearly on the product page ("3-month minimum") to avoid support tickets and chargebacks.
Maximum allowed orders
Maximum allowed orders ends the subscription automatically after N successful orders — no manual cleanup, no accidental extra billing.
When to use it: fixed-length programs — a 6-month coffee tasting course, a 12-week training box. When the last order is billed, the contract completes on its own.
Each contract's detail page shows its successful-order count against both limits, so you always know where a customer stands.
Shipping profiles for subscriptions
Want subscribers to get cheaper (or free) delivery without touching your store-wide shipping? Create a subscription shipping profile:
- Go to Settings → Shipping profile and create a profile — name it, define zones and rates (e.g. "Subscription shipping — $2 flat" or free).
- Open your plan and attach the profile in the Shipping profile step of the builder.
That's it — you don't add products to the profile manually; linking it to the plan is enough. Orders from that plan then use the profile's rates instead of your default shipping.
