How to Set Up an Automated Notification
Learn how to set up automated push notifications that are triggered by customer events and behaviors. Configure triggers, customize notification content, and activate the workflow to engage customers automatically
Overview
An Automated Notification is sent automatically when a customer meets a predefined condition, such as abandoning a cart, returning to an in-stock product, or completing an order.
Once activated, the notification continues running without requiring you to create a new campaign each time.

Available automation types
Ego Mobile Builder provides the following automated notifications:
Abandoned cart
Remind customers about products left in their cart.
Back in stock
Notify customers when a product they are interested in becomes available again.
Welcome offer
Send a welcome message or offer after a new customer signs up.
Order update
Notify customers when their order status changes, such as when an order is processed, shipped, or delivered.
Inactive user
Encourage customers who have not used the app for a period of time to return.
Low stock alert
Create urgency by notifying customers when a product is almost sold out.
Price drop alert
Notify customers when a product in their wishlist or cart is available at a lower price.
Thank you & exclusive offer
Send a thank-you message or exclusive offer after a customer completes their first purchase.
Step 1: Select an automation
Open Ego Mobile Builder.
Go to Notifications.
Click Create notification.
Under Automated, find the notification you want to use.
Click Create.

Step 2: Configure the sending condition
Configure when the notification should be sent.
The available condition depends on the selected automation. For example, an Abandoned cart notification lets you set how long Ego should wait after products are added to the cart but not checked out.
Enter the delay and select the relevant time unit.

Choose a delay that gives customers enough time to complete the action before sending a reminder.
Step 3: Add the notification content
Under Content, configure:
Title
Enter a short title of up to 50 characters.
Example:
You left something behind
Message
Enter the main message of up to 200 characters.
Example:
Your selected items are still waiting in your cart.
You can also use available emojis and customer shortcodes.
Step 4: Upload an image
Click Browse File to add an optional image.
Recommended settings:
Image size: 1440 × 720 px
Maximum file size: 5 MB
Use an image that matches the notification message and destination.
Step 5: Choose a destination
Under Navigation to, select where customers should go after tapping the notification:
Product
Collection
URL
Screen
Then select the relevant destination.

For example, an abandoned-cart notification should direct customers to the Cart or another relevant recovery screen.
Step 6: Select a segment
Under Segments, click Select segment and choose which users are eligible to receive the notification.
A notification is sent only when the customer:
Meets the automation condition.
Belongs to the selected segment.
Has installed the app.
Has allowed push notifications.
Step 7: Preview and test
Use the Preview panel to review how the notification may appear on a mobile device.
Click Send test to send it to the connected Ego App Preview.
Check:
Title and message
Image display
Personalization
Redirect destination
Overall readability
Step 8: Activate the automation
Review the condition, content, destination, and segment.
Set the automation status to Active when it is ready to run.
Once active, Ego Mobile Builder automatically sends the notification to eligible customers who meet the configured conditions.
Recommended practices
Match the message with the automation trigger.
Avoid setting the delay too short.
Select a relevant customer segment.
Direct customers to the most relevant app destination.
Send a test before activation.
Review active automations regularly and disable outdated campaigns.
