How to Create a Manual Notification
Learn how to create and send a manual push notification. Compose your message, select the target audience, schedule or send it immediately, and track its delivery.
Overview
A Manual Notification is a one-time push notification that you can send immediately or schedule for later.
Use it for:
Flash sales
Product launches
Collection announcements
App-only promotions
Store updates
You can customize the content, choose the target audience, and direct customers to a specific destination in your app.

Before you begin
Prepare:
A short title and message
A campaign image, if needed
The target customer segment
The destination customers should open
The preferred send time
Customers must have installed your app and allowed push notifications to receive your message.
Step 1: Create a notification
Open Ego Mobile Builder.
Go to Notifications.
Click Create notification.
Under Manual, select New.
Click Create.

Step 2: Add the content
Under Content, configure:
Title
Enter a short notification title of up to 50 characters.
Example:
New arrivals are here ✨
Message
Enter the main message of up to 200 characters.
Example:
Explore our latest collection and find your new favorites.
You can also use available emojis and customer shortcodes, such as:
firstName
lastName
storeUrl
email
phone
Only use a shortcode when the related customer information is available.
Step 3: Upload an image
Click Browse File to add a campaign image.
Recommended settings:
Image size: 1440 × 720 px
Maximum file size: 5 MB
Use a clear image that matches the notification content.
Step 4: Choose the send time
Under Send time, select:
Send now to deliver the notification immediately.
Schedule for other time to select a future date and time.
Check the campaign timing and timezone before scheduling.
Step 5: Choose a destination
Under Navigation to, select where customers should go after tapping the notification.
Available options include:
Product
Collection
URL
Screen
Then select the related product, collection, URL, or app screen.
Make sure the selected destination matches the notification message.
Step 6: Select a segment
Under Segments, click Select segment and choose the audience that should receive the notification.
The final number of recipients may be lower than the segment size because users must also allow push notifications.
Step 7: Preview and test
Use the Preview panel to check how the notification may appear on a mobile device.
Review:
Title and message
Image
Personalization
Overall readability
Click Send test to send the notification to the connected Ego App Preview.

Test that the notification opens the correct destination before sending it to customers.
Step 8: Review and send
Before confirming, review:
Content
Image
Send time
Navigation destination
Selected segment
Test result
Then complete the notification to send it immediately or add it to the scheduled notification list.
Recommended practices
Keep the title and message concise.
Focus on one campaign and one action.
