Managing Subscriptions in Admin
Find any contract and handle the everyday tasks — recipes included.
Finding a subscription
The Subscriptions page lists every contract: ID, customer, status, creation date, frequency, next order date, total, and order count. To find one fast:
- Filter by status tab: All / Active / Paused / Failed / Cancelled.
- Search by Subscription ID, or filter by customer (name/email).
Click a row to open the detail page — four tabs: Detail, Past Orders, Upcoming Orders, and Activity Logs (a full audit trail: who changed what, when).
Everyday task recipes
| Task | How |
|---|---|
| Pause a subscription | Detail page → header → Pause (confirm). Resume the same way with Resume. |
| Bill right now | Header → Place Order — charges the next cycle immediately. |
| Skip the next delivery | Header → Skip Next Order (or skip any specific cycle from the Upcoming Orders tab). |
| Customer's card expired | Payment info card → Send link to update payment method — the customer gets a secure Shopify link, no card data passes through you. |
| Change the shipping address | Shipping card → Select Address or edit — applies to all future orders of this contract. |
| Change how often it ships | Detail tab → edit the delivery policy (frequency). |
| Leave an internal note | Merchant notes (only you see it) vs. Customer notes (customer-visible). |
Editing the products on a contract
From the products section of the detail page you can, per line item:
- Add product — on an existing plan or a custom one-off plan.
- Edit Quantity / Edit Variant (e.g. customer wants a different size).
- Edit Price — set a base price, or schedule a price change after N billing cycles (percentage, fixed discount, or fixed price per unit).
- Swap Product — replace it with another product entirely.
- Remove Product, or Skip Items on a specific upcoming date.
Changes apply to future orders of this contract only — other subscribers are unaffected.
Save offers with discounts
Customer emailing to cancel? From the Discounts card, create a targeted discount: code, Percentage or Fixed Amount, and a Recurring Cycle Limit (e.g. 50% off the next 2 orders). It applies automatically to this contract's coming cycles — a proven save-offer that costs less than losing the subscriber.
