How to Manage Product Discovery Settings

Product discovery settings help customers understand product availability and identify important products while browsing your mobile app.

You can use these settings to:

• Add badges to selected products.

• Hide out-of-stock products.

How to access Product discovery

1. From your Shopify Admin, open Ego Mobile Builder.

2. Go to Settings → Product discovery.

3. Select the setting you want to configure.

Product badges

Product badges let you add visual labels such as New, Sale, or Best Seller to selected products.

Use badges to highlight:

• New arrivals

• Discounted products

• Popular items

• Limited or seasonal products

Create a badge

1. Open Product badges.

2. Click Create badge.

3. Enter an internal badge name.

4. Create the badge in the editor or upload an image.

5. Select up to 10 products.

6. Review the preview and click Save.

For uploaded badges:

• Recommended size: 40 × 18 px

• Supported formats: SVG, JPG, JPEG, PNG

• Maximum size: 5 MB

You can reopen an existing badge to edit its design or assigned products. Deleting a badge removes it from all assigned products.

Product badges only change the visual display. They do not create Shopify discounts, tags, or collections.

Out of stock hiding

Out of stock hiding automatically removes sold-out products from product discovery areas in the app.

Enable it when you want customers to browse only products that are currently available.

Keep it disabled when you still want customers to:

• View sold-out products

• Read product details

• Wait for restocks

• Use back-in-stock features

Enable the setting

1. Find Out of stock hiding.

2. Turn on the toggle.

3. Save your changes if required.

4. Refresh the app and review the visible products.

Enabling this setting may significantly reduce the number of visible products if many items are sold out.

Recommended setup

• Use a small number of clear badges.

• Keep stock data updated in Shopify.

• Review the app after enabling out-of-stock hiding.

Troubleshooting

Product badges

If a badge does not appear, confirm it is saved and assigned to the correct product.

Out of stock hiding

If sold-out products remain visible, confirm the toggle is enabled and the products have no available inventory.
